The Future of Oral Care? My Hands-On Experience with the Soocas NEOS II

Stepping into the launch event for the Soocas NEOS II last week in New York, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Coming off the heels of the Greater New York Dental Meeting, the product launch was a mix of dental professionals, journalists, and curious attendees eager to see what this new 2-in-1 toothbrush and water flosser was all about. Having briefly tested the NEOS II at the dental meeting, this event provided a hands-on opportunity to experience the product more thoroughly.

The event featured an insightful talk by Dr. Lorna Flamer-Caldera, General Chair-Elect of the Greater New York Dental Meeting. She highlighted the challenges of patient compliance in oral care routines. “Many people struggle to floss regularly, despite knowing its importance,” she explained.

The Test Run: More Fun Than You’d Expect

My first impression of the NEOS II was its design. Available in Pearl White and Dark Violet, the device looked more like a luxury accessory than a dental tool. But it was the moment of testing that sold me on the product.

The NEOS II was displayed on the aisle next to the product launch area. Holding it in my hand, I immediately noticed how solid but lightweight it was, with a comfortable grip that felt intuitive. Then came the fun part: turning on the water flosser—the ultra-fine 0.6mm water stream sprang to life with a quick click, and the demonstration began.

The water stream felt powerful yet surprisingly gentle—like a mini power washer. It didn’t take long before I was having fun with it, experimenting with the different intensity levels and marveling at how easily it flushed out debris. During the demonstration, a moment of laughter erupted when one attendee, caught up in the excitement, accidentally sprayed another. But within minutes, everyone was mastering the device, proving that the device is intuitive enough for first-time users.

The NEOS II is about making oral care something you actually look forward to. The compact design and 30-day battery life make it perfect for busy lifestyles, whether you’re at home or traveling. The addition of an IPX8 waterproof rating ensures you can use it anywhere, even in the shower. The eco-friendly packaging made from biodegradable sugarcane bagasse added a thoughtful touch, aligning with modern sustainability trends. It’s a small detail, but one that left a big impression.

By the end of the event (with a few water splashes on my shirt), I was convinced. The NEOS II delivers on its promise of combining brushing and flossing into one intuitive device. Whether you’re someone who loves tech gadgets or just wants a better way to maintain oral hygiene, the NEOS II makes the process easier, more efficient, and undeniably more enjoyable.
